Bach with Adolf Busch Evening with historical recording, presented and played, from two remarkable concerts held in the Tripoli theater September 1st and 2nd 1945. The world-renowned German violinist Adolf Busch played with the Reykjavík Music Society’s String Ensemble. Works by J.S. Bach: Violin concertos in a minor and E major and Sonata for solo violin in C major and movements from the d minor Partita. This was Adolf Busch's first visit to Iceland, but he made a very strong attachment with the country and came several times. He brought with him other great musicians such as Rudolf Serkin and the members of the Busch String Quartet. Sound technician Hreinn Valdimarsson has done the magic work of transferring the music from the old Lacquer plates to the modern digital form. |
